Light a fire, a flame in my heart

xx

This is old, but during Thanksgiving break my cousin and I took a trip out to a local park. Which was located right beside my ole middle school. Can't believe it's already been 2 years since I graduated from there. Oh, how time flies. This trip was probably a good thing for my little nostalgic mind. It's kinda cool 'cause so much has happened for me in 2 years. I'm thankful for it all too.

This song has been on repeat, and it actually sorta fits into Christmas time. Just listen to the ending.

She thought that love was gonna save her

My weekend consisted of: wishmaking, drinking coffee, making brownies and truffles, watching the Marquez vs. Pacquiao fight, watching a bit of "How I Met Your Mother," checking out the new show "New Girl," (no pun intended,) and of course, homework. All's well that ends well.

I am done with my graceless heart

So I'm super duper late. But on Tuesday, October 4th, I turned sixteen. And it's weird. I celebrated with close friends and family on Saturday. No sweet sixteen. Just a hangout with people that I love.

I'm starting to feel older, but not completely yet. I'm still coming to terms with my new age. Everyone treated me like I was becoming an adult. I guess there's something special about the age of sixteen. I don't know. I'll have to see.

But anyways, Tuesday was wonderful. I was just so happy that day and nothing was bringing me down. I took a quick trip to the mall and got a $5 light peach colored skirt that ends right at my shins. As I made a trip to and from the car, there was a light drizzle. Still didn't get me down, though. When I got home, the kid across my street handed me a cake, which I'd ordered a month before to help him with fundraising. Pretty coincidental, wouldn't you think?

And then I walked into my room, to see this:
This was taken at night and last-minute, so sorry for low quality!
My cousin (a.k.a my photographer) also took some more shots while I was at school and she was decorating my room.
And guess what, my 'roommate' was in on the secret too.

Saturday was even greater. I went to eat out with friends and family, then my friends and I walked to the mall and stayed there 'till around 10 at night. I love all of them so much, it's crazy.
I got a huge poster for my birthday from the two lovely gals in the back.
Birthday food, woooot. OMNOM.
Two favorites of mine combined into one: chocolate and music.

And that was my birthday. Despite having trouble walking in my maxi dress, I had a great week overall. The party was just the icing on the cake. (Oh goodness, me and my corny jokes. . .)

All this time, I was waiting for you

Highlight of the night (:

"Tornado Potato"

OMNOM. "Porker Sandwich" by Piaggio

Opening Act, "Toy"

OneRepublic!!!

Ryan Tedder went out into the crowd during "Apologize"

We spotted Ryan in the trailer post-concert. He's behind the blinds.

Oh, man, last night was too much fun. I saw OneRepublic in concert, and they were amazing. I'm in love with their music all over again. And now my voice is shot, but not completely. A few times Ryan Tedder pointed out our section, and HE POINTED AT US. <3 The opening act was a band called Toy. My cousin and I tried out gelato, some Argentinean food from Piaggo, and the tornado potato. Overall, the LA County Fair is so much fun, and if your favorite band's playing, go see them. It's worth it, especially since the tickets are fairly cheaper than a regular concert.

Story for this song: Well, I love this song. And last night Ryan asked us two things:
  1. "Who's here with someone else?"
  2. "This one's equally important, who's here by themselves?"
And then he said, "I got three words for you...match dot com." Which was hilarious. But then he also asked, "Who wishes they were here with someone else?" He went on to tell us that we have enough dance songs for years, and that we needed more love songs in the world, and that this was one love song they brought into the world. He told us that for those who wished they were there with someone else (including myself), "This one's for you."

So I hope you'll love this song as much as I do. I nearly cried singing along last night.
